Welcome to my website - thanks for stopping by.
It's now early 2021 and the Covid pandemic seems to be abating somewhat, but the new variants are a threat to us all. People are starting to get vaccinated, but we are still some months away from any of these being widely available. Even with the vaccines, we'll need to keep using the social tools we have. Is music even relevant at a time like this?
Of course it is. Good music captures what is in our hearts. And the number of ways we can access music now - well, it's kind of astounding. Doesn't seem that long ago that record labels had an absolute lock on music production and distribution. Now you can do your own studio quality recording with a home computer and the right software. Add a couple good microphones, and you are set. Technology - look at the videos that high school students, all kinds of people really, are doing with their phones. Look at some of the collaborations people have done, virtually, blending dozens, even hundreds of voices and/or instruments, producing astounding "live" music. Amazing time to be alive, virus or no virus.
Speaking of which, this is as good a time as any to remember the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who admonished us to "live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” We'll get through this if we work together.
I hope this finds you and those you love safe and well...tm
